Coping with the Loss of a Pet

Breathe in for four seconds. Breathe out for seven. Now, take a moment to allow yourself to feel a sense of peace that will give you a moment to cope with the loss of your pet friend or family member. Oh, how you remember meeting your pet puppy for the very first time, feeling their soft puppy fur and watching the excitement in their eyes as they gaze and connect with yours, giving you a bit of some mood-boosting oxytocin. Time passes and suddenly your beloved furry friend is no longer with you. What do you do? How do you cope?

There are so many reasons as to why a pet may die, but we should never disregard our grief from our loss. It is absolutely fine to miss them, cry for them, and even yell for them. Ultimately, it will be up to you to decide when you can carry on. However, if the grief is just too much, please, follow this link so that you can find different ways to learn on how to cope with the loss of your pet.
