Personal - Judging Others: Projecting

When you observe the world around you, take a moment to see what emotions are stimulated from within. Do you feel fear? Do you feel curiosity? Do you even feel contempt? It is human nature to want to react to other peoples' behaviors. It is a good thing to praise those who seek to help others through their actions. It is justified to call people out when they act badly. But vilifying someone simply because of who they are, who they worship or how they look is not only far from an outdated way of thinking, but it remains a juvenile behavior that displays the small mind-set of a person. Discriminatory and demeaning behavior towards others is never okay, especially if your personal beliefs or faith call on you to love your fellow humans. Realistically, we know it is hard to not judge others, especially if we are hurt, angry or insecure about ourselves. In the end, most can agree that judging others is only a display of negative projection. Projection is the technique we use to judge others. Where we judge others, we remain separate and cannot move forward. It is important to understand that learning from our projections on others is crucial to our own success and that of any organization we are a part of.
